At The Yard Gym, our programming is built on four fundamental training principles: progression, overload, specificity, and individualization. Our system balances variety and structure, giving our members the freedom to train in different ways, while maintaining consistency in effort and outcomes.
Our core classes, RIG and TURF, work hand-in-hand blending strength and endurance to help you build a strong, capable body. Supporting these are our signature sessions of PAYDAY and GAMEDAY—hybrid workouts that fuel friendly competition and create a powerful sense of community within the gym.
With an ever-evolving program that delivers a fresh training experience every week, our members stay challenged and inspired. It’s a results-driven approach powered by dynamic, enjoyable workouts.
Parking is available on-site with 12 dedicated spots, along with additional roadside parking nearby. We’re also well-connected by public transport, with bus stops just a short walk away on McLeod Road and Great North Road. Locals can jump off near McLeod Park and walk straight down to the gym.
Our team is made up of knowledgeable, experienced coaches who bring a high-performance mindset to every session. We're hands-on, encouraging, and committed to helping you train with purpose, build confidence, and move with intent.
People love coming to The Yard Gym Te Atatū because it’s more than just a gym - it’s a welcoming, supportive space where you can be yourself, connect with others, and switch off from everyday stress. With a strong sense of community and an ideal location near McLeod Park, it’s the perfect spot for athletes, families, and locals alike. We currently offer a Crèche and Run Club, with Pilates coming soon.

Our crèche provides a safe and fun environment for your children, allowing you to focus on your fitness goals. We offer supervised childcare for young children, so you can enjoy your workout with peace of mind.
PILATES
A seamless 45 minutes of shaping and toning with qualified instructors in a group setting. Our weekly Mat Pilates classes are the perfect addition to complement your strength and conditioning workouts.
RUN CLUB
Our community comes together one morning a week and smashes out a 30 minute run. Coffee is always on the cards afterwards.
